Today we ran into an interesting situation. I wanted to install a original GM touchscreen navigation into a GM without nav. Here’s the info I found.

If you have a GM Escalade, Denali, Hummer H2, etc. with the Luxury (Lux) Y91 stereo system. You can install the Touchscreen GM 15800001, 1523009 or 10377531 (non touch screen is 15204335, 15204334, or 15108241.) but you might have to get it programmed (vin unlocked) to your vehicle at the dealer if the radio says “theftlock activated” .

If you have a GM Suburban, Yukon, Silverado with the Bose non-luxury (non-Lux) you can install a non lux gm nav radio. I have to research the part numbers though.

Get a GM nav DVD and GPS ant antenna (GM Part # 15135178) and it should be ready to go.

Can i have two batteries hooked up to one alternator. one for my subs/amp and the other for car stuff?
i want to get a second battery and i dont want a second alternator… so dont recomend please! but i want to know if i can just have one battery devoted to powering my subs/amp and the other for whatever and maybe a little for the subs/amp… is this possible?

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters
Install the second battery with a battery isolater. Wire the isolater to the vehicles ignition so that the batteries will be seperated when the vehicle is off. Route all of the cables for your amplifiers to the second battery.

Having a second battery will not make the alternator work harder. The load on the alternator caused by the amplifiers might be a problem but there isn’t any disadvantage to having the extra stored capacity (except for the cost) of an extra battery.

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters
You can get a MemoryStick Pro Duo to sd card adapter and a card reader.

That’s a local tuner button. If you are close to 2 radio stations that are near the same frequencies that button will tune it to the closest station.
I think you’re talking about the MRP-M2000. That amp is a monster. It runs the bass booth (Alpines Bass Shower) with 16 12″ woofers.
It’s hard to breathe in that booth.
I’m writing an article about the tour of Alpine I went on below. It will have a pic of the booth.

ok i have a dodge durango but i havent gotten the subs or the sub box but for the subs i wanted to get JL AUDIO® 12″ W3v3-Series SUBWOOFER (4-Ohm) or the 12” kicker cvx but i need your opinion guys which subs will sound better and on the sub box what is better ported or sealed i like all kind of music and i relly like alot of bass and the amp is a monoblock jl 500/1

Additional Details
so what amp would be good for the jl

Best Answer – Chosen by Voters
Kicker products are a joke. I was an authorized dealer back in the day and I got tired of having to send products in for warranty repair.

JL Audio is a much better product. w0, w3, w5, w6, w7 are all better then any kicker on the market. The JL amps are much better also, even the low end TMA amplifiers have a lot of power. The 500/1 will work but the 1000/1 would be a better choice.
